Grandma Houston and RJ visit us!

Grandma Houston and RJ came to visit us last week! We had a lot of fun going to downtown Seattle and on a tour of the Mariner's Stadium! Afterward we got to go to the Rain Forest Cafe! Later that week we also got to go to the Evergreen State Fair where we had fun looking around at the animals, riding the rides and eating some fair food! We had a great visit! We can't wait for them to come back again!

Family Photos

Last week we had our family pictures taken by a friend of ours in Lake Stevens. She did a great job, and we highly recommend her if you are in the Washington area. Here is her photography site, so you can check out her work!

Jetty Island!

Last Thursday the kids and I went to Jetty Island for Play Group. Jetty Island is a fun little man made island with real sand just off of Everett. Real sand is the key word since most of the beaches in Washington have only rocky beaches. Jetty Island also had a lot of drift wood to climb on and make boats out of to float on! We took a cute little ferry ride, and spent a few hours having fun in the sun and sand! Here are some pic's of the kids!

No Prince!

Shawn was telling a story to Claire last night about a girl who found a horse and took great care of it. The story finished in typical fairytale fashion with the girl kissing the horse and turning it into a prince. At this Claire groaned in disgust and said,
"NOT A PRINCE. I JUST WANT THE HORSE TO COME BACK!"
So, no princes please, just horses. I can already see it. In order for Claire to accept any marriage proposal (in the far future) the winning suitor will have to pay some sort of dowry in the form of horses to win the heart of my girl. As for me and Shawn we are just fine for the moment with the "no prince" philosophy.

I love the Library!

We went to story time at the library again, and again I was impressed! They read stories, had another drawing in which we walked away with coupons for a free taco from Taco Bell, and a free ice cream cone from Baskin Robbins. The kids love the drawing- who doesn't love to win! After the drawing, we did a lei craft. Here are pictures of the lei's!

Waiting........

....a bit impatiently for my copy of Breaking Dawn to get here. Really, I am very impatient at the moment since the mail just came sans book. I bought it from Amazon weeks ago thinking I would get it by the release date, or get a better deal on it. But alas, I will be one of the last to get my book at just regular price. To make it worse we went to Costco on Saturday and Shawn grabbed a regularly priced copy of the book off the large stack of books they had, and he read the last page. Now he is tormenting me that he knows the ending before me. Augh...... when will my book come to me.

Wrong Feet!

Will loves to put on his own shoes. The problem is that he puts them on the wrong feet 100% of the time. Isn't that statistically impossible? You think he'd get it right once in awhile. I'm beginning to think he really thinks this is how they go on. Hmmm, maybe I should work on it with him.
Here's one more. I know I've posted Will in Snow White shoes before, but I can't pass this up. The weird thing is that he always gets these shoes on right. Here he is today again with Snow White shoes. He also loves his firefighter hat, but only on backwards as you can see. If we try to turn it around he turns it right back the way he likes it. He has his own style.

Kool Craft (Kool-Aid that is)

I'm always looking for different crafts to do that keep my kids attention, so I thought I'd post this one for anyone else that's does crafts too. It's kind of like finger painting, but with Kool-Aid and an ice cube. I bought the Kool-Aid with the sugar already added that way the kids could taste their art work as they went along. It would be fun next time to get different colors of Kool-Aid (our pictures look questionable as to what we used with just the red- a little gory). How many times can I say Kool-Aid in this post????? 4 times so far. Anyway, they had fun and it was tasty too. Take a look at our creations.

Kool-Aid and Ice - ready to go!

Art work you can eat while you create is the best!

It works best if the ice is a little melted.

The finished projects!
